Temperature control units are used in industrial applications where temperature control is important (up to 300°C / 570°F). They are capable of guaranteeing: high precision, work stability, improvement of the characteristics of the finished product and a general increase in productivity thanks to the reduction of waste. We find application in various industrial sectors such as: injection, blowing and extrusion of plastic materials, metal injection, chemicals, pharmaceuticals and other industrial processes.
Temperature controllers are units designed to control the temperature of water-cooled processes from an external cooling system (generally an adiabatic unit). Depending on the required temperature, these units can work with water (up to 90 °C / 190 ˚F), pressurized water (up to 180 °C / 350 ˚F) and diathermic oil (up to 300 °C / 570 ˚F).
They may typically have one or more thermoregulatory zones, each consisting of:
The temperature controllers allow precise control of the temperature of the process fluid and can work both in heating mode, through electrical resistors, and in cooling mode, through the water that comes from the external cooling system.
Each unit can work in 2 different ways:
During this phase, the electrical heating resistances are activated, which increase and maintain the temperature of the process in accordance with the production requirements.
Direct – The heat extracted from the process is transferred to the external cooling system through the microprocessor controlled automatic mixing valve.
Indirect – The heat extracted from the process is dissipated through a heat exchanger connected to the external cooling system.
