WATER-COOLED CHILLERS

FOR INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS

Efficient cooling for all sectors

There are many sectors that require a simultaneous demand for heating and cooling in their different applications, such as: the chemical and pharmaceutical sector, the food and beverage sector (Food & Beverage), PET, and Industrial and processing, among others. .

Water chillers are machines that are used to modify the temperature of the water as required, being able to air-condition buildings, or to dissipate the heat generated in the different industrial processes.

The operation of these chillers is based, on the one hand, on certain principles of thermodynamics and, on the other, on advances in cutting-edge technology, which allows for equipment capable of reducing the temperature of the water, increasing energy efficiency by maximum and, therefore, obtaining the best benefits, both in terms of production and sustainability.

For this, a closed cycle of the cooling fluid is needed, that is, without said fluid having to be replaced, it will carry out the required cooling over and over again. It is important to highlight that it cannot be just any fluid, but must have specific properties, since, throughout the closed cycle, it will pass through different elements that will alter its state, its temperature, etc.

  These elements are:

  • Compressor:  it is in a gaseous state and its function is to compress the temperature of the fluid to increase its pressure. In this part of the process, the fluid tends to increase in temperature, so heat exchangers are usually required to keep it stable.
  • Condenser:  Once the required pressure has been achieved thanks to the compressor, the fluid, still in a gaseous state, is introduced into the condenser to be converted to a liquid state.
  • Expansion valve:  Its function is to expand the refrigerant fluid that arrives in a liquid state and with a very high pressure due to its passage through the condenser to, in this way, reduce its pressure.
  • Evaporator:  Finally, the liquid, already at low pressure, will circulate through the evaporator to return to a gaseous state. To do this, it will need to absorb the heat from the area to be cooled.

In the case of water-cooled water chillers, and unlike condensed by air , the heat that leaves the equipment goes to the outside environment, which, in this case, would be water instead of air. Thus, depending on the need for said equipment, one type of condenser or another (coaxial, multitubular, evaporative, etc.) will be used.

It must be said that the performance in terms of equipment cooling is greater when the process is carried out with water condensation instead of air because, furthermore, it does not depend on the environmental conditions, and because the environmental heat that is produced when there is Many pieces of equipment operating in confined spaces negatively and directly affect the useful life of the machines and their performance.

MODULAR CHILLERS

COMPACT CHILLERS FOR INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS

Flexible and powerful Plug & Play system

Modular water-cooled chillers are individual, completely self-contained, super-compact chiller modules specifically designed to build complete systems with multiple chillers, connecting them in series (MultiStage) or parallel, as well as connecting to an adiabatic system: Ecodry . They uniquely combine high cooling power with high energy efficiency,  and are managed by a centralized controller.

                                                                                                                                                                          THEY ARE EQUIPPED WITH:

MODULAR WATER-COOLED CHILLERS FROM 100 TO 600KW (28.4 TO 170.7 TONS)   WITH A SINGLE MULTI-SCROLL OR SCREW COMPRESSOR

HOW DOES THE MODULAR COOLER WORK?

INTELLIGENT AND RELIABLE COOLING

In both system configurations (series or parallel), the modular chillers are managed by a central control system. This device is used to partialize the cooling capacity supplied by each module to maintain the required temperature constant, optimizing the energy efficiency of the entire system.

Being fully self-contained units, they offer high system reliability in the event of a failure, as each chiller can be removed and serviced elsewhere or completely replaced without shutting down the entire system.

"PLUG & PLAY" SYSTEM

The plug & play concept of modular chillers is specifically designed to build systems consisting of multiple units, capable of achieving high cooling capacities.

The two configurations are:
